KENT GREALISH, CFP® AIF®
Kent Grealish has served clients as a financial advisor for over three decades. Kent specializes in helping clients construct and manage personal investment portfolios and retirement accounts, working with clients to identify and reach their most important financial goals. Using a written Investment Policy Statement that defines the client’s overall strategy for managing investment decisions, Kent provides specific recommendations based on the client’s objectives, risk tolerance and personal situation.
Kent has regularly written financial articles beginning in 1983 with a regular column for the San Mateo Times (and continuing until the paper was sold in 1995). He has been a featured writer for MOAA’s Financial Frontlines™, IndexUniverse.com, Dimespring.com, and a contributor to Morningstar Advisor and Military Officer Magazine. He has been quoted in Forbes.com, Smart Money, Bloomberg.com, Bankrate.com, Reuters, Time.com, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Money Magazine, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, and has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal and KPIX TV.
Recognizing that client education is an important duty, Kent taught adult education classes on a variety of financial subjects for 17 years. Kent currently uses seminars, articles and a quarterly client newsletter to teach fundamental investment principles as well as Behavioral Finance - how our human nature affects the way we make investment decisions. His compensation is based solely on an hourly rate and he does not receive commissions, asset-based fees, or payments from any other sources for advisory services.
Kent received a degree in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He earned the right to use the CFP® and CRPC® marks of distinction, and was awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation in 2007. He is a graduate (with distinction) of the United States Naval War College, College of Naval Command and Staff and holds the rank of Captain, Supply Corps, U.S. Naval Reserve (retired).
Kent is active in his community, serving as Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee for the City of San Mateo (2001-2019), as Secretary of the San Mateo County History Museum (1995 - 2004) and as Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Foundation for the San Mateo Community College District (1996 - 2003).
